 Some years ago Ratnagiri district was divided into Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg and Devgad Taluka is into Sindhudurg District. Our  popular coastal area’s Ratnagiri Alphonso or Hapus Mangoes Divided just for District, not for nature. So, the Devgad area’s mango is called Devgad Hapus. Devgad’s name is also sweet like alphonso and easy to pronounce. As per (GI) geographical indication Tag, all konkan area is covered for alphonso mango. Means Ratnagiri, Sidhudurg,Raigad,Palghar, This coastal area of Maharashtra is much suitable for alphonso mango. Devgad is also a tourist destination like Ratnagiri, Some Top Tourist Attractions in Devgad, Kunkeshwar Beach,Achara Titha, Devgad Beach, Devgad Fort, Devgad New Fishing Jetty etc.
